Our re-opening, an update

We recently contacted you with an update on some of the changes which will take place when we are in a position to reopen the practice; if you haven’t read it you can do so by clicking here.

We are still officially in a national lockdown and need to be aware of social distancing to prevent an upsurge in infection rates, and our procedures must account for this.

The whole team at JL Dental are working hard to ensure that your visit to our practice will be a pleasant, effective, and most importantly a safe experience. Many of the procedures and protocols that were routinely part of safe delivery of dental care are already well developed and practiced here. With the COVID-19 pandemic and in light of the official guidance published this week, we have upgraded many of these routines to ensure that we are offering you as safe an environment as possible.

So, although we can reopen from today (June 8th)it may be some days before we are in a position to offer routine appointments. Initially we will only be seeing urgent cases. The enforced downtime between appointments requiring the use of a drill or ultrasonic scaling, means we will not be able to see as many patients as before. As each appointment will take longer, and require extra PPE (some of which has gone up 20 times in price) we will have to add a small surcharge on to our treatment fees to cover part of this cost.

Initially we will not be in a position to offer routine care such as check-ups and hygienist appointments. We are hoping to reintroduce these services in the next few weeks as the lockdown eases and will let you know when appointments are available to be booked. In the coming days we will be contacting everyone who has registered that they have an urgent issue to offer them an appointment. You will be sent further information about your visit when the appointment is made.

At this time, we would ask that you only contact us to book an appointment in the early stages of reopening if you are in pain or you deem your dental issue to be urgent.I would like to thank you all for your support and understanding during this period.
