dental veneers

Dental veneers have become one of the most sought-after smile improvement treatments in recent years, and here at JL Dental Care in Edgware we have been delivering stunning results in both full porcelain veneers and composite veneers.

Veneers have become really popular for a number of reasons, starting with the trend of reality stars of going abroad to have a full set of porcelain veneers and a dazzling white smile and the general increase in awareness and interest in our dental appearance There is no longer a need to go abroad to achieve the smile of your dreams. JL Dental Care can help!

The pandemic also changed how we work and live, and many of us moved speaking to colleagues and friends on video calls. This made may people acutely aware of flaws in their smile and one of the ways to rectify this is veneers.

While porcelain veneers are an option, it’s rarely one we opt for, as it needlessly means filing down and potentially damaging otherwise healthy teeth.

There is a much less invasive treatment which delivers much more natural results, whilst being much more cost-effective and it’s called composite veneers or composite bonding. It simply involves bonding a synthetic resin to your teeth -this is the same tooth coloured material used to make ‘white’ fillings. We layer and sculpt it directly to the tooth which creates a beautiful and natural looking result.

We can do this in one appointment and there’s no need to send anything off to the dental laboratory and wait for it to return which means a lower cost. With regular maintenance (such as annual polishing if necessary) the results of composite veneers can last for many years. They also look incredibly natural, and most importantly, as stated above, there’s no need to remove great portions of the original tooth which can be the case with porcelain veneers.

Composite veneers are a fantastic way to achieve natural aesthetic results and restore any imperfections which you may not have been happy with for some years including:

· Permanently stained teeth

· Chipped or broken teeth

· Gaps between your teeth

· Misshapen or crooked teeth

· Discoloured or damaged fillings
