A dental implant is, quite simply, the closest thing to a replacement tooth! It is an artificial tooth root made of titanium that is gently placed into the space where there used to be a tooth. Who can have dental implants?

At JL dental care we will carry out a thorough examination taking appropriate x-rays, to see if you are suitable for having a dental implant. Not everybody will be suitable, as it can be dependent on the condition and amount of bone in the area of the planned implants and your medical history.

On occasions, there is not enough bone or it is not healthy enough we may not be able to proceed without additional treatment, and referral to an expert may be required to ensure the best outcome. Once placed, you will return to us and we are usually able to carry out the restoration in our practice.
